Luk Chee Chew

Bachelor of Fine Arts, University of Tasmania (UTAS), Australia

Luk graduated from UTAS in the year 2000, majoring in Electronic Media. Prior in UTAS, he completed his Diploma in Communication Design, majoring in Graphic Communication and Creative Advertising at The One Academy, Malaysia.

Luk started his communication design career as a web designer and art director at SurfDiz Malaysia in 2001. On 28 February 2002, he founded Fusionwave together with his business partner. Major clients of the company ranges from Malaysia’s top fashion designers, corporate clients and experimental projects such as Malaysia-International Fashion Awards, Melinda Looi, Porsche & Saab, Fuji Films Malaysia and  MNC Berhad etc. The company has successfully transformed into a 4As agency in the year 2009.

Luk was invited by The One Academy, Baruvi Academy of Arts, Center for Advanced Design (CENFAD) and PJCAD as a guest lecturer in Malaysia.

Luk was awarded the Long Xi International Chinese Advertising Award 1999 in Hong Kong. Besides, he also won the PICA Award 2000, Australia, finalist of Malaysia Video Award 2002 and Golden Web Award 2003, Design Firm Award 2004.

Besides, Luk has also created Dweey – Designer toy brand, 2005 and EKO - creative eco product brand, 2009.

A big up to SUPAMARKET for showing us its latest parody design of HEINZ ketchup logo courtesy of chief designer Jack Ngeoh. Currently working on crossover basis, we are certain SUPAMARKET will be an up and coming brand in the Malaysian street wear scene. Optical Illusion Watch

There is a new concept in town – an optical illusion watch concept, and it comes directly from Tokyoflash design studios. As they claim: this design is perfect for those who are into challenges. Time it displays is a hidden optical illusion stereogram of some sort.

Getting used to it requires training your eyes first. Only then you will be able to see the hidden numbers embedded in some kind of a greenish maze. On the other hand, if you have trouble seeing the time on the standard display, just touch the main button, and it outlines the individual digits.

 

This is only a concept, and hasn’t entered the manufacturing process yet. Perhaps it could be an interesting toy, at least before you get bored by it. So what do you think? Would you buy this watch if it was available for purchase?
