Nigoldeneye on MTV Japan

Nigoldeneye is a name most may or may not be familiar with, but if you’re one of many cult followers of Nigo and BAPE, then you know about this MTV Japan exclusive series. Created in 2006, this 38 episode show featured the fictional character Harbow and his sidekick Christian, as they conduct interviews with Nigo intact and includes various friends of the BAPE family including Pharrell Williams and the Beastie Boys. The series showed a rarely seen side of creative director Nigo as he laughs, jokes and goes into detail about his inspirations and ideas. Watch all episodes now in Japanese only at MTV Japan.

Birkenstock Japan Limited Edition “Montana”

Birkenstock Japan works up a limited edition version of its Montana shoe, an interesting design that pair suede uppers with a touch of leather. Animated in its shape, the design boasts a rather wide toe cap, fused together with a leather heel wrap. Thin leather laces put everything together atop a flat black outsole. Although not for everyone, there are some that appreciate the hippie Birkenstock look.

Van Ness Wu x Brian Joo x Siwon Choi (3rd Wave)

Van Ness Wu has been collaborating with Brian Joo and Siwon Choi on some awesome music together! The collab is called 3rd Wave and their album “I Will Be There” drops today (10/10/10) on iTunes! It’s a collective effort to bless people as well as raise funds for the Food for the Hungry’s “IWIN Campaign,” which will provide educational support and medical relief to the Ivory Coast in Africa. Good music. Good cause.

Hennessy Artistry Halo

After months of Hennessy Artistry events around KL, Penang and Kota Kinabalu, we’ve seen what these music events have to offer, and it’s left us wanting more! Looking to end the year with a bang, Hennessy Artistry Halo is set to host the biggest party of the ‘The Global Art of Mixing’ series on Saturday, 23 October 2010 at Malaysia International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC) at Mines Resort City. An expected 4000 strong crowd is set to descend upon a night of exquisite sights, sounds and tastes!

If the past Hennessy Artistry events are anything to go by, this year end bash will be the cream of the crop of parties to say the least. Headlining the event is hip hop superstar Kardinal Offishal, coming in all the way from Canada to wax lyrical on us. Having collaborated with Akon to make the chart hit ‘Dangerous’, this hip hop lyricist will know how to get the crowd pumping and jumping. Staying true to Hennessy Artistry’s unique approach to transcending cultural barriers, Hennessy Artistry Halo will see a blending of musical genres of East and West. Taiwanese rhythm pumping hip hop quartet Da Mouth, also known as the Black Eyed Peas of Asia will also be performing, to maintain the hip hop vibe of the night.

DJ Alex Dreamz is also being brought in to woo clubbers with his signature club, electro and house tunes. With over 130 remixes to date, this accomplished DJ will no doubt live up to the reputable lineup for the night. Also joining him are Malaysian representatives of 3 top class acts - Mizz Nina, who recently had a stellar performance at Arthur’s Day alongside Colby O’Donis, Deja Voodoo Spells, who’s mission is to rock the crowd, and Foulworks and Miss Eva T; a DJing tag team that never seem to disappoint.

Gap’s New Logo

If you have visited Gap’s website recently, or simply have been keeping up to date with the blogs and RSS feed, you probably have already seen the new Gap logo which is the talk of retail town at the moment. All-American affordable retailer Gap has decided to rebrand itself and quietly switch over from the old logo we had grown up with to a new one without announcement or a launch. While some have described the logo as a modern vintage take on the old and prevalent logo, some continue to speculate what this move means and what it can mean for the brand in the future. Battle of the Year 2010 event recap

UNKNOWNCOLORS presents BOTY 2010 which was held outdoor at the 1 Utama Park recently. Different teams from all over Malaysia inclusive of East Malaysia came down and battled it out for the chance to represent Malaysia in the World Championship which will be held in Singapore towards the end of the year.
